Dimcho Solakov is a Professor at the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography, corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He is one of the most experienced experts in Bulgaria dealing with seismic hazard assessment. His main research fields are statistical methods in seismology, seismological data analysis and seismic hazard assessment. He had a teaching experience in Sofia State University, Faculty of Physics (lectures on Seismology and inner structure of the Earth) in seismology and more than 120 scientific publications in national and international journals and reports.
