Emil Botev is a professor in the Department of Seismology and Earthquake Engineering at the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Since 1979, he has experience in seismological, geophysical and geodynamic investigation on the territory of Bulgaria and the surrounding region. More than 220 scientific papers reflect the results obtained on the: Monitoring of the seismicity and analysis of the seismic processes in the active zones; 3-D velocity structure modeling of the lithosphere of Balkans; Geodynamic investigations of the regional seismotectonic field; Investigation of the geomagnetic and other geophysical field anomalies and correlation with the earthquake activity.
