Doctoral Studies

GENERAL INFORMATION
The National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has been accredited for 11 PhD programs in two professional fields. Doctoral education is carried out in the relevant department/center of NIGGG – BAS, where there is at least one qualified person from the relevant scientific specialty. The admission and training of PhD students can be in regular, part-time, or independent form of study. The duration of the regular and the independent form of study is up to 3 years, while the part-time form of study is up to 4 years. Any individual who has completed a Master’s Degree with an overall cumulative grade point average of at least 4.50 can apply for PhD studies. The training of PhD students at NIGGG – BAS is conducted in accordance with Bulgarian legislation.
